Frequently Asked Questions: SnapStone® Porcelain Floor Tile Patterns & Layouts

Where in the room should I start my SnapStone® floor tile installation?

It is typically best to start in the center of the room or at a perimeter. It is important to determine where your cuts will be in order to avoid using small pieces along the edge. You may also want to consider starting in the area with the most undercuts as installing these pieces at the end of your installation can be challenging.

What tile pattern options do I have?

The SnapStone porcelain tile can easily be installed using straight, staggered, or diagonal patterns. Additionally, 12"x12" and 6"x6" tiles can be installed together to create an almost unlimited number of options. See our Flooring Tile Patterns page or more information about floor patterns and layouts.

Does installing a diagonal pattern require more work than a straight pattern?

Yes. Installing a diagonal pattern does require a little extra work to plan the layout and make additional cuts. Also, due to the additional cuts, there will be a slightly higher amount of wasted tile.
